The first contract for the sale of a property in Attica to a Chinese citizen was signed on Thursday, August 8, based on the new law 4146/2013, which provides for the issuance of residence permits to citizens of the European Union if they purchase real estate worth more than 250 euro. According to an announcement by the real estate company BuildUp, the contract was signed in the framework of the exclusive cooperation of the Greek company with the Chinese company CSDH for the promotion of Greek real estate to the buying and investing public of China. BuildUp operates as a company providing integrated real estate development and investment services both in Attica and on large islands such as Crete. A Chinese man became the first foreigner to benefit from the program earlier this month, Greek newspaper Kathimerini reported Aug. 13. Local real estate company BuildUp said the deal was signed on Aug. 8, and the firm is working with a Chinese company to promote Greece’s property market, according to Kathimerini.
